An innovation agenda for regional water productivity in Australia

Overview

This project developed a consultation framework for establishing an innovation agenda for regional water productivity in Australia’s southern Murray Darling Basin.

Project Summary

This project developed a consultation framework for establishing an innovation agenda for regional water productivity in Australia’s southern Murray Darling Basin. Based on innovation systems literature, the project applied an adapted Delphi technique to canvass the expert opinion of over 300 interdisciplinary stakeholders in water resource management and use in Australia. The results of the consultation process were considered and endorsed by a Strategic Advisory Committee of water industry representatives in late 2013.

This research contributed directly to the development of a Blueprint for Regional Water Productivity which was officially launched by the Minister for the Environment, the Hon. Greg Hunt at the University of Melbourne in June 2014.
