Primary Innovation (NZ): Research and Impact of Primary Innovation: Social Network Analysis Benchmark 2015
Overview
This project involves longitudinal social network analysis to map changes in the relational structure of the co-innovation project’s network during its five year duration.
Project Summary
The purpose of this study is to understand the reach and impact of two key groups participating in the Primary Innovation Programme (PIP). This programme has been set up to support innovation across New Zealand’s primary industries. Social network analysis will be conducted to provide a baseline understanding about the cohesion among members of the PIP Community of Practice and the PIP Research Group within the programme. It will also investigate the knowledge-sharing reach of project members with key stakeholders outside the project. Social network analysis will be repeated at 18- month to 2-year intervals as a longitudinal diagnostic tool to help identify critical knowledge brokers throughout the project, as well as gaps and opportunities for enabling connectivity across the innovation system.
